August 5, 2026 update
Staff reported interim repairs were complete and long-term repairs would include relocating pipelines away from erosion-prone areas, with community and regulatory-agency feedback being gathered.

Staff presented the proposed restoration design, including 10 step pools over 225 feet, 25 post-assisted log structures, utility relocations, construction access and trail-closure plans, and a proposed 10-year monitoring program. The Commission recommended City Council approval.

Staff reported that the consultant began work in December 2024. An alternatives evaluation is anticipated in May 2025 to determine whether to relocate utilities and conduct a smaller creek restoration or retain crossings and undertake a larger stabilization project. Permitting and CEQA review are scheduled for completion in May 2026; construction bidding is planned from March through September 2026.
