VTA Speed & Reliability Program
VTA initiative to improve bus speed and reliability through operational and infrastructure measures, including countywide transit signal priority and work to reduce cash-payment boarding delays.

- Phase-one community engagement on transit signal priority was concluding; VTA planned further fare-payment outreach in March and April 2025 and anticipated a pilot in summer 2025.

January 29, 2025: Presentation on transit signal priority and fare-payment outreach
VTA reported that Routes 22 and 522 are Palo Alto's frequent-network routes. It was using outreach and operational data to set transit-signal-priority priorities, support grant applications, and coordinate with local cities. VTA also sought advice on Palo Alto organizations and events for upcoming outreach on cashless fare-payment barriers.
